The Directory of African Evaluators contains a list of the names of evaluation professionals who are either from Africa (born on the continent) or who work regularly in African countries with African scholars and M&E practitioners to conduct monitoring and evaluation studies.
The Directory is a platform for building a community of scholarship, learning and practice and collaboration across the African continent. It connects evaluation professionals across Africa, showcasing their expertise, experience, and sectoral knowledge. It strengthens the visibility and recognition of African evaluators and supports commissioners of evaluations (governments, NGOs and donors) find qualified and contextually grounded expertise.
By foregrounding African evaluators, their areas of specialisation and the sectors and countries in which they have worked, the Directory contributes to the promotion of locally led evaluation and African ownership of evaluation practice on the continent. It is an essential resource for fostering excellence, professionalism, and innovation in evaluation throughout Africa. The Directory supports evidence-informed decision-making and the growth of robust national and regional evaluation systems.
The Directory of African Evaluators is maintained by CREST and aims to be a dynamic platform through continuous expansion of content and a range of search functionalities.

Evaluators who are currently listed in the Directory can at any time request to update their information as displayed by sending an email request to that effect to Jessica Wilken (jwilken@sun.ac.za) who will upload any changes to the database that underpins the Directory.
Evaluators who are currently conducting evaluations in African countries with a strong affiliation with Africa who wish to be included in the Directory, are welcome to send a request to be included to Jessica Wilken who will assist them to complete the necessary forms for uploading the information.
Any person currently listed in the Directory who wishes to be delisted, can simply send a request to this effect to Jessica Wilken.
